I am a new fan of DJ Gabriel. Knowing me, I hardly pay attention to DJs who play dance music, but when I heard his set at Space Dancefloor Odyssey launch, I was impressed. I still don’t know how to label a DJ, but his stuff is dark and very sexy to the ears. Check his set out at Embassy in Bandung, Indonesia.
Last Saturday night I couldn’t decide what to go for. I have Reuben’s Bosh at micro @ baroque, Joyce’s birthday at twenty.one and later that night Nesh sent me a SMS to go over to Laundry for his last night. I was already tired from the clubbing I did from Wednesday to Friday, so Saturday was pretty fucked up, but I made up my mind. I gotta show Nesh some love and besides, I always give hip hop priority. So I took a cab over to The Curve to find Jason a.k.a. Vandal and Masia One were there too, so I got some company while waiting for April to come over. It was fun to see Nesh rocking the mic, it was also Jason’s birthday, Masia One gave out her pre-album release which sounded dope, and she rocked the mic for us. Check it.
After 7 months of bumming around, I finally got a full-time job with one of the leading magazines in town and I started just this week. It’s been keeping me busy that I haven’t got the time to blog about anything. It’s a totally new experience for me and it’s been fun. I’m enjoying the journey so far.
I have been JUICEd ![]()

Only a year younger than me. I remember how people keep referring him as Brandy’s brother, that it’s all there is, without allowing the brother having his own identity. First single I heard of Ray J was “Let It Go” on a DJ mixtape in ‘96 and thought his nasal-ish vocals were very reminiscing of Brandy’s style, so I wasn’t all (more…)
I know of this particular artist who hasn’t replied to my interview questions for months now. I ain’t his first time doing this, why he gotta be acting this way? What’s the point of recording an album when you don’t want to do share information with the magazine? So yeah, you had some bad past, just put it aside and keep your head up. It’s bad enough I can’t get in touch with you, but only through your (more…)
To those who came for KL Undercover at W Wine Room @ Heritage Row just now, I am touched. Thanks for the love and support. It wouldn’t have been possible without you. Thanks to 2 Dawgs & A Ho for the massive help. Thanks to W Wine Room for the spot. Thanks to DJ Nesh and DJ Altimet for a dope dope dope set. Thanks to Vandal and Zain for being on the mics. Thanks to the Ili, Wan, Cliq, HQA, and the rest of Rogue Squadron for the mad support. Thanks to Yaniz, Joe Flizzow, Ceza and the whole crew for the love. Thanks to Rauff, Pasha and crew for the support. Thanks to Tubby, Razman, and your gang for the love. Thanks to Laych and gang for having a good time. Thanks to Joyce for showing up eventhough you ain’t a Hip Hop fan. Thanks to all the Freeform peeps for showing love. Thanks to Blastique for being there. Thanks to everyone. I wish I could remember all the name, but I can’t and you gotta know I have love for all of you. Thanks for showing KL Undercover so much love. I almost cried twice in disbelieve. Thanks for understanding my vision and most of all, loving Hip Hop. You guys made it too fantabulous for me that I am running out of words, probably cos I am so fucking crunked right now. I mean what I say and I am still trying to swallow all this in slowly. It’s too fucking surreal. Even though there wasn’t as many people as I wish it to be, it was good enough. Those who always asked for good Hip Hop, but did not show up, I have no words for you, but it ain’t over, so you know what to do. I ain’t hating, I’m just drunk. I know I should stop babbling now, but on the real, I am fucking touched tonight. I will never forget the words you guys projected to my ears. And especially thanks Joe for the words because it really meant a lot to me coming from you.
Fuck I feel like crying now and I want some roti canai. Damn.
Peace to Hip Hop.
